L4779 ADVERTISING FOR OFFERS Sealed proposals will be received through the Alabama Community College System for George C. Wallace Community College, at their offices at 1141 Wallace Drive, Community Enrichment Center, Dothan, Alabama; UNTIL 2:00 PM LOCAL TIME; ON FEBRUARY 8, 2022 when and where they will be opened and read publicly for: WALLACE COMMUNITY COLLEGE GENERATOR UPGRADES AT THE DOTHAN CAMPUS AND THE SPARKS CAMPUS GEORGE C. WALLACE COMMUNITY COLLEGE FOR THE ALABAMA COMMUNITY COLLEGE SYSTEM (Local Funds ) The project work includes, but is not limited to: selective demolition, concrete work, electrical generator upgrades, coordination of the entire project and all related work as indicated in the project documents. call for tenders and contracting. A cashier’s check or bid bond payable to ALABAMA COMMUNITY COLLEGE SYSTEM in the amount of at least five (5) percent of the bid amount, but in no event greater than $10,000, and verification of registration for E-Verify must accompany the Bidder’s proposal. Labor and material payment and performance bonds, insurance as required, and verification of E-Verify registration will be required at contract signing. Drawings and specifications can be examined at the Architect’s Office; FW Dodge Plan Rooms in Montgomery and Birmingham, Alabama; through Dodge/Scan; and Reed Construction Market Data and AGC Internet Plan Rooms in Birmingham, Alabama. Tender documents may be obtained from the Architect via digital access/file sharing for a one-time $25.00 administrative fee (non-refundable; separate cheque) and/or on CD (PDF format) for a one-time deposit of $50.00 (non-refundable; separate check), and/or on deposit of $150.00 per set (separate check), which will be refunded in full on the first two (2) sets issued to each bidder submitting a bid in good faith, upon return of documents in proper and reusable form within ten (10) days of the date of submission. Additional general contractor packages and subcontractor and reseller packages may be obtained with the same deposit, which will be refunded as above, less printing, reproduction, handling and distribution costs, which are estimated be the same as the down payment amount. A MANDATORY PRE-BID CONFERENCE will be held at Wallace Community College; Rane Hall, Willis Auditorium; Dothan, Alabama at 10:00 a.m., FEBRUARY 2, 2022, for the purpose of reviewing the project and answering questions from the Bidder. Attendance at the pre-bid conference is mandatory for all general contractor bidders intending to submit a proposal, and is strongly recommended for all subcontractors. Bids from General Contractor bidders who do not attend the mandatory pre-bid conference will be rejected. This project is offered DUTIES FREE and requires the contractor to comply with the requirements of Law 2013-205, which was signed into law on May 9, 2013. The contractor and owner will be required to apply for exemption certificates from Alabama . Ministry of Revenue which will take care of the administration of the certificates. The contractor must account for the tax savings on the proposal form. Additional qualifications and requirements for general contractor bidders and separate subcontractors and manufacturers are set forth in the bid and contract documents.
