AB Barrera elected 2nd Lt. Governor of District 10 of the American Advertising Federation

Houston, TX- Local advertising and communications professional AB Barrera was unanimously elected to serve as 2n/a Lieutenant Governor and begins his District Governor track for District 10 of the American Advertising Federation. The election was recently held in Houston at the District 10 Advention (district-wide advertising and marketing conference).
District 10 encompasses the states of Arkansas, Louisiana, Oklahoma, and Texas. Like 2n/aLieutenant Governor Barrera will help oversee nineteen American Advertising Federation chapter clubs in cities across those four states. This is only the second time a Hispanic has been elected to a governorship since the district was formed in 1909, and the first time a Laredoan has held the office.
Barrera was also honored with a special Governor’s Award for “Community” for his commitment to fostering community and collaboration among American Advertising Federation clubs throughout the district.
“I look forward to serving the District 10 Executive Committee and all of our clubs and members; as well as growing the district and maintaining our commitment to be the unifying voice of advertising,” Barrera said.

His other accolades include certification by the Emily Post Institute as a Certified Business Etiquette Professional and Certified Marketing Manager (CMD), a designation he earned early in his marketing career from the International Council of Centers (now Innovating Commerce Serving Communities).
